Vegetable Market: Week 3

This week saw a tapering off of the peaches, an end to the cherries, and a big hello to figs. Sickeningly sweet and super delicious, I use them in both sweet and savoury dishes. It seemed as though every stall had baskets of figs delicately piled high with colours ranging from light green to deep purple. But what excited me the most today was to discover the return of my favourite white eggplants. Ranging from the size of my thumb to that of an egg, the sweet and delicate flavour is a welcome summer treat.
