Vegetable Market: Week 8

IMG 6577

The highlight of the market for me this week has to be the last of the summer peaches and nectarines and the start of the plums and pears. As the days of August have come to a close, the conversation shifts from “How was your holiday?” to an odd phrase that comes at the beginning of the September regardless of logic or ambient temperature. The phrase in question is  “Καλό χειμώνα” and literally means “good winter”. So as you get back to schedules, school, and work I would like to wish you a “Good winter” from Greece.
