Market Week 12

IMG 7565 Version 2

With a week in Pelion, a week in Santorini (that was work really!), and a train full of house guests, my regular posts have taken a real hit. Not only am I behind, but the time out of the kitchen has really killed my inspiration. So with that said, it was a treat to introduce myself once again to the market and re-kindle my passion so to speak. I certainly noticed a difference in my three week absence. Peaches and nectarines are now completely done, being replaced by the crisp and juicy apples and succulent pears from the regions of Pelion and Edessa. The land now seems ready to give up it’s fall/harvest offerings.

This week’s tab was about 20 Euros:

  • Jonagold apples (Pelion)
  • Gala apples (Edessa)
  • Granny Smith apples (Edessa)
  • Green grapes (Corinth)
  • Pears
  • Bananas
  • Red plums
  • Roma tomatoes
  • Regular salad tomatoes (Naxos)
  • Cucumbers (Crete)
  • Zucchinis
  • Garlic
  • Peppers (mixed red and green)
  • Cilantro
  • Parsley
  • Rocket
  • Green onions
  • Lemons
  • Flowers for my lovely wife
